Resource Venture is managed by Cascadia Consulting Group, an environmental management consulting firm. Cascadia specializes in sustainability, water resource management, education, outreach & social marketing, and solid waste management consulting throughout the country. The Resource Venture team offers technical assistance to Seattle area businesses on a wide range of resource conservation issues.

For over 15 years the Resource Venture has helped Seattle companies improve their environmental performance, by understanding the challenges businesses face when adopting practices that protect the environment.

The Resource Venture (formerly Business and Industry Recycling Venture and, more recently, Business and Industry Resource Venture) began in September 1990. Its original mission was helping Seattle businesses prevent solid waste, recycle and use recycled products. During our first 10 years, we successfully assisted thousands of local companies in these areas. Beginning in September 2000, Resource Venture expanded to become a free resource on a broader range of business environmental issues. In addition to solid waste prevention and recycling, Resource Venture began offering information and assistance on water conservation, stormwater pollution prevention and green building.
