Cleaning up is not just the right thing to do; it’s the law. If there is a chance pollutants could spill or runoff your site, your business is required to:
· Create and follow a spill prevention and clean up plan
· Keep a spill kit with response equipment anywhere spills may occur
· Train your employees how to prevent and respond to spills
Most clean ups cost from $5,000 to $10,000. Creating a spill kit and plan is the most cost-effective way to prevent and deal with a potential spill.
Resource Venture provides FREE spill kits and plans to Seattle businesses to prevent pollutants from spilling into the storm drainage system and directly into our waterways without treatment. Learn more at www.ResourceVenture.org
